Good morning everyone and happy speed-schedule Thursday! This week, we will continue to work on our own on our Computer Apps Semester 2 moodle site. You will click on Eastern High School , and click on Horner’s Technology Apps Sems 2 to go to our site. This is the link that you will follow to your daily assignments after you finish your Warm Ups. Your Student ID will be your login and your password will be changeme when you first access Moodle.
Be reminded that you lose participation points when you are caught on YouTube, Facebook, and similar sites. You may listen to music on a site like www.grooveshark.com that does NOT have videos. If music starts to interfere with your ability to complete your work or stay on task, you will lose that privilege.
Warm Up:
Go to www.bestbuy.com and browse the computers section of their website. Choose one desktop computer (not a laptop, tablet, or i-pad) and tell me how much it costs and 3 features it includes.

Assignment:
This week our Computer Apps Semester 2 moodle site, you should have 2.1.1 Keyboarding Skills and 2.1.2 Word Processing Tutorial completed by Friday, March 23rd. Be sure to check out some of the different typing websites listed in Moodle. This is the last week of the marking period, so if you haven’t taken the Module 1 test yet, do so! To begin the test, you have to enter the password, “horner” (my last name, lower case, without the quotation marks). You should continue working on Moodle today and I will go over deadlines tomorrow. Finish the marking period strong!

Toshiba 23" Touch-Screen All-In-One Computer - 6GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive
"All-in-one design
Features a 23" widescreen LED touch-screen display with TruBrite technology for crisp images. Wireless keyboard with 10-keypad and wireless mouse offer comfortable use. Built-in Onkyo stereo speakers deliver rich audio." Very important. I'm an artist, so good computer graphics are a must-have for digital-media projects.
"6GB DDR3 memory
For multitasking power, expandable to 16GB." Also a must-have. Art takes up lots of memory space and can be very hard on computers. It's best to have an upgradeable amount available.
"1.3MP webcam
Makes it easy to video chat with family and friends." Not necessary but cool. And I'd be able to chat with my friends from Midland more often.
I also really like Toshiba computers. I have a laptop, it's about 7 years old, and still works like new despite having been dropped several times from various heights and locations. I even dropped it in a puddle once...
