May 3

Happy Thursday class! Be sure to be on task and using your time wisely. This week, we are working in Moodle on a section about e-mail. Due dates are given below. I am not announcing the next due dates because I want people that need to finish up missing work to use today to do so. If you are all caught up, you may continue in Moodle. Mid-Marking Period Grades have been submitted and the results for some students in this class are not so good. A lot of people did NOT follow the directions for the newspaper assignment. If you got a poor grade on the newspaper assignment, make the corrections and resubmit it. The problem for students who received a bad grade is that they copied articles instead of writing a one paragraph summary of each article. The paragraphs should be in your own words with your own “voice”, not using the same phrases and words that the reporter chose to use. J
Be reminded that you lose participation points when you are caught on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and similar sites. You may listen to music on a site like www.grooveshark.com that does NOT have videos. If music starts to interfere with your ability to complete your work or stay on task, you will lose that privilege.
Warm Up:

What is the population of the United States right now? What is the world population as of 2012?
Assignment:
On our Computer Apps Semester 2 moodle site, the due date for 2.2.3 E-Mail: Providing Context and 2.2.4 E-Mail: Subject Lines Poster was Wednesday, May 2nd. Continue working on the E-Mail modules this week in Moodle when you are done with the assignments given. If you have any questions, please let me know!
